Children’s Hour, among the last paintings our father produced, It features all four of us children each engaged in a favorite activity in a setting of majestic trees. Our mother loved telling the story of our father showing her the just-finished painting. She admired it enthusiastically but then exclaimed: “But Frank, where are we? He is replied: Paula, don’t you see those two cooing Turtle Doves at the base of that biggest tree?” – The Mechau Family
