Description
Chair Mountain stands like a magnificent guardian over the beautiful Crystal River and valley leading to the Roaring Fork and on to the Colorado. It lies just a few miles up river from the Mechau family’s home near Redstone, a welcome sight each day for a family so fortunate as ours has been to live in such surroundings. It was here that our father found his artistic inspiration. This image is a striking selection from the mid-section of the full painting — the “chair” for which it it’s named.
